Job Title: Sports Development Coordinator

Location: Featherstone Rovers Foundation
Employment Type: Full-time/40 hours per week
Reports To: Head of Foundation

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver sports development programmes and events

  • Increase partnerships, sales and increasing revenue streams

  • Build and maintain partnerships with schools, community organisations, and local sports clubs

  • Promote participation across diverse and under-represented groups

  • Support development pathways for participants and emerging talent

  • Manage programme schedules and resources and contribute to budget oversight

  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on programme performance and impact

  • Support the recruitment, coordination, and supervision of coaches, staff, and volunteers

  • Provide line management support where required, including performance monitoring and feedback

  • Quality-assure delivery staff to ensure sessions meet organisational standards

  • Ensure safeguarding, health, and safety policies are adhered to at all times

  • Assist with marketing and promotion of programmes through outreach and digital channels

Role Overview

The Sports Development Coordinator will be responsible for planning, delivering, and promoting sports and physical activity programmes that increase participation, improve community engagement, and support development pathways. The role will require experience in sales and scheduling staff delivery. In addition, the role will involve supporting and overseeing delivery staff, ensuring high-quality programme delivery and continuous improvement across all activities.

The role will contribute to the Foundation’s strategic objectives by working closely with local partners, schools, and community groups to create inclusive and accessible opportunities and grow the Foundation’s reach.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in sports development, sports management, community programmes, or a similar role

  • Experience managing or supervising staff, with the ability to provide constructive feedback and support performance improvement

  • Strong organisational and project coordination skills

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities

  • Experience using CRM software to manage participant data, track engagement, and support reporting

  • Understanding of quality assurance processes in programme delivery

  • Knowledge of safeguarding, equality, and inclusion in sport

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

  • Competence in monitoring, reporting, and basic budget management

  • Experience working with children in KS1, 2, 3 and 4

  • Experience working in open access/youth work

  • Passion for sport and community development

Qualifications

  • Degree in Sports Development, Sports Management, or a related field (desirable)

  • Relevant coaching qualifications (desirable)

  • Safeguarding and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

 Additional Requirements

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required

  • Full UK driving licence (desirable)

  • Enhanced DBS
