ROVERS TOTS PROJECT A HUGE SUCCESS

Rovers Tots is a parent and toddler group run by Featherstone Rovers Foundation, it was awarded a grant by People’s Health Trust in February 2016. This grant has meant that the toddler sessions can run twice a week for just £1 per child. The sessions provide amazing opportunities for families with young children, in the Featherstone and surrounding areas. They can socialise and participate in new and exciting experiences, in a friendly group.

Since the project was launched 2 years ago, 426 people have visited Rovers Tots. With between 40 and 65 adults and children attending each session and new families joining every week, it has become a vital part of the community.

Project leader Amanda Courtman said “Rovers Tots has helped to connect people from the local community. Friendships have been formed, that extend beyond the sessions we run. Several participants have reported that they 'Have met a friend for life', as a result of attending our project. We have helped to prevent parents/carers of young children feeling isolated, by giving them a place to come and have fun with their children. The children love the sessions that we run and they support all areas of child development”

Rovers Tots runs for 0 to 5 year olds every Tuesday and Wednesday, 10am to 11.30am in the clubhouse at Featherstone Rovers. The sessions are run by project leader, Amanda Courtman and volunteers working towards their ASDAN Volunteer award. So why not go along and join the fun?
