NATIONAL SCHOOL SPORTS WEEK

As National School Sports Week 2025 kicks off from 16–22 June, the Featherstone Rovers Foundation is proud to stand alongside schools across the country to champion the vital role of sport in young people's lives.

As National School Sports Week 2025 kicks off this week from 16th–22nd June, the Featherstone Rovers Foundation is proud to stand alongside schools across the country to champion the vital role of sport in young people's lives.

Organised by the Youth Sport Trust, this year’s School Sports Week carries the powerful theme: “Belonging – a place in sport for every child.” It is a call to action for all communities to ensure every young person, regardless of background or ability, feels included and empowered through sport.

At the Featherstone Rovers Foundation, this mission aligns closely with our everyday work in local schools. Our school sport provision packages are designed to support and enhance physical education by delivering high-quality coaching during curriculum time, along with structured breakfast, lunchtime, and after-school clubs.

We work in partnership with schools to tailor sporting programmes that reflect the PE curriculum while offering engaging, inclusive sessions that promote physical literacy, teamwork, and mental wellbeing.

“Sport is more than just physical activity – it builds confidence, resilience, and a sense of community. Through our school sport packages, we’re proud to give children the opportunity to experience those benefits every single day,” Ian Hardman Featherstone Rovers Foundation.

The positive feedback from our partner schools reinforces the value of our work. Teachers report improved concentration, enthusiasm, and social development among pupils engaged in our sessions.

As we celebrate National School Sports Week, we reaffirm our commitment to creating inclusive sporting environments where every child belongs – not just for one week, but all year round.
