Rovers and New College
Category 3 Academies offer students a pathway to professional Rugby League in an education setting.
A college who has this status has a formal partnership with a Professional Rugby League Club and is committed to providing a high performance player development environment that meets the RFL standards, while allowing students to continue their further education study.
Featherstone Rovers Foundation has developed a partnership with Pontefract New College to run a Category 3 Rugby Academy which have been playing in the Premier Association of Colleges League. The team is coached by Foundation staff member Paul March at both the college and using the state of the art gym facility here at the Stadium. The Academy enables Featherstone Rovers to continue to provide a player pathway to the first team despite not having a reserve grade team.
