FEV FUTURES
Last week, Featherstone Rovers foundation hosted Hull FC and Warrington Wolves Foundation for an 11-a-side development festival for the under 15/16s in the Featherstone area. We had 24 lads turn up and play against 2 teams from both Warrington Wolves and Hull FC. Ian Hardman, our head on rugby league development said:
‘Our Fev Futures player development programme continues to go from strength to strength, and it was really pleasing to welcome so many talented rugby players from the local area into our environment. We would like to thank all players who took part and as well as Featherstone Lions ARLFC, for hosting our u15/16s Boys Festival.’
On Friday, we hosted a development day for the Under 12 to Under 14s boys, and Under 12s to Under 16s girls. The boys focused on ball handling skills and attacking 2v1 and 3v2s, Tackle technique and Agility and Speed. This session took place in the morning with Matthiou Cozza and Toma Lacan, two first players from Featherstone Rovers. The girls session was taken by several members of the Featherstone Rovers Ladies team, under the watchful eye of Ladies first team coach Marie Colley. They focused on Ball Skills, how to handle the ball and pass correctly, Agility how to move of one leg and change direction quickly and how to tackle properly using the right technique and to gain more power.

In total we had 43 boys and girls turn up for the development day.
